Melody Timinsky, Chief Executive Officer
Melody Timinsky joined Volunteers of America Texas (VOAT) as President and CEO in the Fall of 2010. She holds a MBA from the University of Dallas and is currently working on her PhD in Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Dallas. Melody previously worked at Big Thought as the Chief Operating Officer, where she led the execution of the organizations operations and extensive commitments to schools, artists, funders, institutional partners, and children. Melody was also an elected member of the Plano ISD school district. She serves on several committees and has more than 25 years of executive management experience. Melody is recognized for her leadership in comprehensive projects and performance accountability.
Nadine Scamp, Chief Program Officer
Nadine Scamp has been with Volunteers of America Texas for ten years and is currently the Chief Program Officer. She has a B.A. in Psychology and is a Licensed Master Social Worker. Nadine has experience in developing and implementing services for women who are overcoming addiction, homelessness and/or incarceration. Nadine also serves on a number of committees and advisory boards, and she is the recent recipient of the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County’s Sally S. Shipman CEO award, given to a local leader committed to excellence in programming to prevent and end homelessness.
Jan Bynum, VP of HR
Jan Bynum, Vice President of Human Resources, came to work for
Volunteers of America Texas in May 1998. She came with over 17 years of
experience in Human Resources. Prior to coming to work for VOA Texas,
Jan worked for Aviall, Inc. as the Manager of Human Resources, for
Westar Security as the Manager of Compensation and Benefits, and for
Fibreboard Corporation as the Manager of Human Resources. She has a
generalist background in Human Resources with an emphasis on
compensation, benefits and HRIS. Jan is a Certified Compensation
Professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from
Dallas Baptist University.
Mike McElroy, VP of Finance
Michael (Mike) McElroy has more than 30 years of
progressively-responsible financial experience working primarily in
small to large non-profit organizations serving in providing healthcare,
long-term care, and social services. Mike also has for profit
experience in the healthcare, telecommunications, and oil field service
and supply industries. Mike was recently promoted to the Vice President
of Finance for the Texas affiliate after serving almost 9 years as
Controller. Mike is a Certified Public Account and graduated from
Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas with a BBA in Accounting.
Betty Morris, VP of Facility and Fleets
Betty Morris, Vice President of Housing and Fleet, has over 25 years in housing management and is directly responsible for forty-two (42) properties and/or 1,531 units of mixed housing (elderly, disabled, family, tax credit). Betty has been involved with a number of these properties from the time of construction to lease-up, etc. Betty holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Tarrant County College; a Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Dallas.
