Make Mentoring Memorable

The Second Chance Mentoring Program matches volunteer women from the community with moms in our rehabilitation facility who want to break the cycle of addiction for themselves and their children. Through the mentoring relationship, mentees learn from others experience, grow in their faith, and have more opportunity for a successful future.

We are a grant from The Second Chance Mentoring Act, designed to reduce recidivism for people leaving incarceration. All our ladies are on probation and have volunteered to be a part of the mentoring program. We would like to see mentors enhance the dignity of mentees by encouraging them to make choices that will enable them to be successful, and by using the power of God to change their lives both on the inside and on the outside.

The mentor would meet with the mentee for a couple of hours a week and build a relationship based on friendship and trust. They will be a trusted advisor and safe person for the mentee to talk to and learn from. Ongoing training is provided for all mentors and staff support is provided for the relationship which will last one year.

If you would like to become a mentor, please contact Crystal Tidball at ctidball@voatx.org or 832-576-3917. .
