Rehabilitation and Treatment

Community Sanction and Re-entry Centers
Volunteers of America Texas is a leader in providing services to re-entry populations. The organization provides a continuum of proven service models to help offenders rebuild their lives and re-enter their communities. Through services such as literacy training, housing location, and alcohol and substance comprehensive treatment, case management offenders gain skills and are empowered to succeed. Residents secure employment, participate in education and life skills training and learn to give back to their community through community service experiences. Programs are operated through agreements with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and U.S. Probation Department, as well as states and counties. Programs are operated in over 50 residential re-entry facilities located across the country.

We provide transitional services for adults who are being released from correctional facilities.  Services include:

The facility houses men and women, with stays ranging up to six months. Hutchins provides a wide range of life skills classes, substance abuse education, and intensive employment readiness and referral services. A unique partnership with Texas Workforce has made Hutchins a pilot site for intensive Texas Workforce services designed to optimize the offenders’ success at locating and maintaining employment. Offenders seek and maintain employment while working on other re-entry issues as well, and are required to pay fees to offset a portion of their subsistence.
