Specialized Programs for Women
Volunteers of America Texas operates three specialized programs in Fort Worth that meet the unique needs of women for substance abuse treatment and correctional services. Each client takes responsibility for her actions in the programs and is given individualized treatment based on assessment of needs. Focus is on recovery of the whole person and the family.
MINT Program
The Mother and Infants Together Program provides pregnant Federal offenders with education, support, and housing during the final stages of pregnancy and for three months postpartum. Clients arrive in their seventh month of pregnancy and stay for approximately three months after the baby is born. The focus of this program is to encourage positive interaction and bonding between the mother and child in a highly structured environment.
L.I.G.H.T. (Living In Good Health Treatment)-FW
The program offers a residential treatment program for women and women with children. A total of eighteen women, up to ten individual women and eight women with children can be served in this program. The program also offers outpatient treatment.
