A History of Service
Volunteers of America Texas is a non-profit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need build their futures and reach their full potential. We have been providing services to people with developmental disabilities throughout our history, and in the last 25 years these services have been recognized as distinct programs within our agency. As a faith-based organization, Volunteers of America Texas continues to build on thee belief of our founders, treating each person with dignity and respect and advocating for community inclusion for every person we serve.
Some people can’t imagine doing what we do.
We can’t imagine not doing it.
Our supports for people with developmental disabilities are all individually focused and delivered by staff who are competent and caring. We are fueled by love and compassion, and an enduring dedication to the human spirit. Our results demonstrate that when you see and work with the potential in everyone, you can accomplish more than anyone thought was possible.
Supports & Services
We believe in building on the strengths and wishes of each consumer and their family to develop services that improve the quality of life. We begin with a foundation of health and safety supports and wrap our services around the family’s unique needs.
Commitment to Quality and Stability
As an organization that has been around for more than a century, Volunteers of America Texas understands the importance of stability. All our programs are licensed and certified by state, federal and/or local monitoring agencies. We also recognize the ongoing need to continue to improve the quality of services, ensuring that the best practices in social services are incorporated into our services. We encourage family involvement and participation in these efforts. As an affiliate of a national nonprofit organization, we take advantage of our collective strength to share new program ideas and successes.
