Your donations help Volunteers of America Texas forge stronger communities and provide hope for the "forgotten children" in your community. It will require time, money, energy and ideas. We invite you to participate with us in a partnership of service.

The financial support for Volunteers of America Texas comes from many sources - from fees for services paid by local, state and federal government agencies; from community-wide fund raising campaigns; and from charitable gifts made directly to Volunteers of America Texas.

Thanks to a few anonymous gifts, a new and critically important source of income has now been established. This new source of income is called the Volunteers of America Texas General Endowment Fund. Income from this Endowment will provide a stable and dependable means of maintaining a nucleus of staff and facilities that can be built upon to meet expanding and ever-changing human service needs.

The Volunteers of America Texas Endowment Fund will be supported with charitable gifts from individuals, from philanthropic foundations and from corporations.

Estate Gifts

Donors can derive a number of benefits from non-cash donations to Volunteers of America Texas. A gift of property may mean a greater contribution at lower personal cost. Tax law changes have made gifts of property easier to execute and more valuable to both the donor and Volunteers of America Texas.

Virtually any non-cash asset can be considered for donation to Volunteers of America Texas. Here are some examples: Publicly-Traded Securities; homes, farms or certain vacation properties; bargain sales; gifts of inventory; art, antiques and collectibles; and/or insurance policies.

Publicly-Traded Securities require no appraisal and can provide the same benefits to the donor as a gift of cash. If the securities have appreciated, the donor makes a larger contribution and may qualify for a larger tax deduction at a reduced cost. Highly-appreciated stocks that produce little income may be placed in trust as a life income gift, increasing the revenue stream for the donor or loved ones.

Property gifts have played an important role in supporting Volunteers of America Texas for over 100 years. These gifts of property are a wonderful way to contribute to the future well-being of Texas, at a relatively low cost to you. If you have property you'd like to donate, please contact us.
