The community-based programs of Volunteers of America Texas serve over 8,000 people throughout the state every year.
Children and Youth Services
Services to children and adolescents cover a broad spectrum of needs including after-school programs for at-risk youth; mentoring for teens in foster care; case management for abused and neglected children.
Community Enhancement
We help strengthen community life through volunteer training and placement, and a wide range of special events and services including holiday celebrations, Days of Caring, and "I Remember Mama".
Substance Abuse
Programs include both residential and outpatient treatment for alcohol and drug addictions, and education programs to help prevent substance abuse.
Developmental Disability Services
Services for people with developmental disabilities promote independence through job training and placement, life skills training, supported and assisted living, case management and protective services.

Volunteers of America is one of the nation's largest nonprofit providers of affordable housing to families, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
Correctional Services
We help rehabilitate offenders and protect society through halfway house and re-entry programs, community sanction and work release programs, and dispute resolution and mediation services.
Home and Family Programs
Services are provided to families and individuals needing assistance with parenting, independent living, and care giving skills. Help is given to individuals who are disabled or in ill health.
