PRSM Paints the Day for VOA
On Saturday, August 20, the Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM) completed its first PRSM Impact charity project, painting the interior of the Volunteers of America Texas - Riverside Treatment Center, a substance abuse treatment center in Fort Worth, Texas. More than 70 volunteers—PRSM retailers and suppliers, PRSM and VOA staff and clients—transformed the treatment center in less than nine hours.
"This was a great day for our charity, PRSM Impact! and a great day for VOA," said Bill Ackerman, Co-chair of the PRSM Charity Committee and National Sales Executive for Vixxo. "We are so thankful for all of the vol-unteers and for the time and money PRSM members donated to make this day possible."
Mike King, CEO of Volunteers of America, attended the event and was thrilled to see the results. "Our part-nership with PRSM is truly unique," he explained. "When you combine the ability of PRSM members to pro-vide a wide range of facilities management services with the cash donations, there really is no limit on how PRSM Impact can help Volunteers of America nationwide."
With a long list of issues to be addressed, work will continue at the VOA Texas Riverside Treatment Center when PRSM members return to Dallas for the PRSM2017 National Conference in April.
PRSM Impact was able to complete the first phase of this charity project, thanks to the generous contributions of time and money by the following PRSM member companies: Maestro's Paint Company, Benjamin Moore, Vixxo, Simon Roofing, National Coating Solutions, Chain Store Maintenance, Integra Service Group, NEST, Lennox National Accounts, Academy Fire Life Safety, EMCOR Facilities Services, Springwise Facility Man-agement, Commercial Solutions, Phoenix Energy Technologies, Powerhouse Retail Services, Retail Security Services, Holiday Retirement, Superclean Service Company, Barnes & Noble, Global Facility Management & Construction, and Gap, Inc.
