Julia “Amatullah” Elahi, is the daughter of a sharecropper. Reflecting on the days each year her father would call the family in from working on the family farm, she admits not knowing much about Juneteenth until she was older. The VOA Texas Park Meadows Resident of 8 years recently took time out to share why the recognition of Juneteenth is important.
