• The Mission Continues

The Mission Continues, a national nonprofit organization that connects military veterans with new missions in under-resourced communities, is commemorating the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with Operation Enduring Service.

The Dallas-Forth Worth platoon is one of five around the country (including Los Angeles CA, New York, Chicago and Washington D.C.) that is serving in honor of the 9/11 commemoration. Volunteers of America (VOA) Texas been selected for this day of service to take place at the Riverside Treatment Center in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday, October 9, 2021.

Two prep days have been scheduled, Saturday, September 18 and Friday, October 8. Volunteers of needed for all three days, the two prep days and the event on Saturday, October 9.

Scope of work: building two volleyball courts, outdoor workout area, building benches/picnic tables, creating two walking paths.

The VOA Texas Riverside Substance Abuse and Treatment center provides inpatient assistance for up to 103 men and women, which includes veterans. The typical treatment for inpatient services is 60 – 90 days, although there are some individuals who complete treatment within 30 days.
