Living with a developmental disability, Williams Syndrome, Jeff found a place to call home in one of our group homes, located in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Jeff is employed and says he loves living with friends who have so much in common with him.

Many couples couldn’t fathom working with their spouse or significant other, but for Bud and Oris Patterson, working at Volunteers of America Texas for more than 20 years together brought them closer. Oris recently retired to help raise four of their ten grandchildren. The couple will soon celebrate 50 years of marriage.

MINT Program

The Mothers and Infants Nurturing Together (MINT) Program is a place where incarcerated mothers may get cleared to come 60 days prior to giving birth to their babies at the Volunteers of America Texas facility. After giving birth, the moms are given several weeks to bond with their babies before either returning to the correctional facility or in some cases, being released with their children.
