Women in our Resolana program at Lew Sterrett Jail, created and conducted an emotional performance in front of a live audience called Sally for All Seasons. The ladies, worked for weeks to coordinate the production which they pulled off by using props that were made of materials at the jail.

On October 1, 2013, two leaders in community re-entry programming, Volunteers of America Texas and Resolana merged to help bring an end to the cycle of incarceration. Through this merger, we will combine our expertise to reduce recidivism through a continuum of pre- and post-release services. In doing so, we will be able to increase our effectiveness and extend our reach to address one of Texas’ most pressing issues — the growing number of incarcerated women.
High school students from Volunteer of America Texas’ Action Teams are making their television debut in a national public service announcement promoting youth volunteerism. Supported by Volunteers of America and the Major League Players Trust, Action Teams bring together high school students interested in volunteering to make their communities stronger through service projects.
Volunteers of America Texas Financial Opportunity Center provides financial coaching, job skills training and employment coaching for veterans others in need.
VOA Texas addiction treatment and recovery programs address not only the addiction itself, but also issues like poverty, homelessness, and abuse that arise from chemical dependency. We are committed to helping clients gain footing in sobriety so that they can reclaim what was lost and become productive members of their families and society.
