Volunteers of America Texas Names Lori Little as Chief Operating Officer

EULESS, TX – Volunteers of America Texas (VOA Texas) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lori Little as Chief Operating Officer beginning Monday, March 3. Little, a longtime leader in the affordable housing industry, brings significant experience in operations, finance, and risk management to her new role. As one of the nation’s largest providers of affordable housing, VOA will greatly benefit from Lori’s wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lori to the VOA Texas leadership team,” said Angela King, President & CEO of VOA Texas. “She has served as a VOA Texas board member for several years and has a deep understanding of our mission and the communities we serve. As our organization continues to grow, Lori’s expertise will help us strengthen our internal operations while expanding our impact across Texas.”

Little recently retired as President and CEO of the National Affordable Housing Trust (NAHT), where she led efforts to preserve and expand quality affordable rental homes for low-income families and seniors nationwide.

Reflecting on her experience, Little shared, “Everyone deserves a quality place to call home and be treated with dignity and respect. I am glad to continue to work with VOA Texas, an organization that values people and helps them thrive.”

Under her leadership, NAHT expanded its partnerships, resulting in over $2 billion in investments and more than 27,500 homes. Little also played a pivotal role during the 2008 economic crisis by collaborating with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to mobilize capital for at-risk housing projects. Additionally, she launched the Strong Families Fund in partnership with The Kresge Foundation, providing service coordinators at family housing developments.

Prior to her tenure at NAHT, Little held leadership positions at JPMorgan Chase, Associates Financial Services of North America, and Blalack & Williams, LLP. A graduate of Abilene Christian University, Little also holds a Juris Doctor from Baylor School of Law.

Throughout her career, Little has worked closely with housing developers across the country, including Volunteers of America, to advance affordable housing initiatives.

“The mission of VOA Texas to its clients is more important than ever. I am excited to help with this effort and really make a difference to my fellow Texans,” said Lori.

In her new role, Little will be based at the VOA Texas administrative office in Euless, TX, and will travel to various service locations as she deepens her knowledge of the organization’s programs.

“We are confident that Lori’s leadership and commitment to service will be invaluable as we continue to grow and meet the needs of vulnerable Texans,” added King.

Little and her husband, Bill, reside in Dallas and have two sons.
