Helping Plano, TX residents who are homeless due to COVID-19.
The Volunteers of America Texas Home Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Program provides rental assistance and housing help to residents in Plano, TX who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Household at or below 60% of the Area Median Income for the Dallas Metro Statistical Area (MSA), as determined by HUD. See Appendix B for current limits;
- Financially impacted by COVID-19
- Has resided in Plano for a minimum of 90 days; or
- Currently resides in a shelter or temporary living situation outside of Plano and can document loss of permanent housing in Plano after March 1, 2020;
- Currently homeless (living outside, in a car, in a shelter, or in a hotel paid for by a charitable organization), or losing current housing within 14 days
- Applicant household must have an initial consultation with a case manager and be willing to meet with that case manager at least monthly during their participation in the program.
- Households are not eligible for TBRA if they are receiving rental assistance under another Federal, state or local rental assistance program
