Volunteers Provide Hope After Hurricane Harvey

(MISSOURI CITY, TX) – A Missouri City, TX, family is getting help with home repairs from damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. Rhonda Johnson received assistance through the Volunteers of America Texas (VOA Texas) Home Repair Program, which is funded by Niagara Cares, Niagara Bottling’s philanthropic division.

The Houston Home Repair Program provides home repairs to low-income families, seniors, veterans and individuals with disabilities throughout the community who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

On Thursday, January 17, employees from the Niagara Bottling plant in Missouri City will join VOA Texas staff to help provide additional updates to Johnson’s home including painting, caulking gaps and cracks in the siding and walls and minor landscaping.

The event provides the opportunity for local Niagara staff to learn more about the funded program and help out at one of the homes. Since 2017, 30 homes have been repaired with assistance from the Home Repair Program.
